Products and services in growth hormone therapy

Human growth hormone (hGH) is a protein produced in the pituitary gland in the brain. It is carried around in the blood and has effects throughout the body. During childhood, growth hormone is needed to grow to normal adult height. In adults, the main effect of growth hormone is the regulation of metabolism.

Novo Nordisk markets Norditropin®, a human growth hormone for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency in children, growth hormone deficiency in adults, Turner syndrome, and other indications. Norditropin® SimpleXx® is the world’s first liquid, premixed human growth hormone in a pen system.

Novo Nordisk has recently launched a new prefilled injection device, Norditropin NordiFlex®, the world's first liquid growth hormone in a ready-to-use disposable pen, which ensures the easiest possible treatment for people with growth disorders.

Novo Nordisk is continuously investigating new indications, including intrauterine growth retardation and indications where the anabolic effect of hGH will improve the outcome of disease, severe asthma in children and complicated fractures.
