Sponsorships
Novo Nordisk primarily sponsors activities within the company's main area of expertise, namely diabetes. Whenever possible, the company is actively involved in the planning, execution and/or follow-up of the activities to ensure as high an impact as possible.
In 2006 sponsorship activities focused in particular on awareness-raising and prevention of diabetes among young people. A major sponsorship in 2006–07 is a school ‘science theatre festival’ at the Copenhagen Experimentarium, a hands-on science centre. The finale is held in May 2007, but schools are already working on the theatrical theme: ‘Fun and facts about digestion’. Sponsorships in 2006 amounted to 1.8 million Danish kroner.
In addition to the sponsorships administered by Novo Nordisk's headquarters, the local affiliates sponsor numerous events and activities. These activities are primarily within the framework of our business areas as well as local community involvement and general social purposes.
